A true gem of a store with an even sweeter owner! Very knowledgeable and happy to help you find anything, and also happy to let you peruse at your leisure. Could have spent more time here exploring all the finds!

We were greeted by a beautiful dog with one blue eye and one brown eye, and the shop owners were kind enough to put up with our mischief of taking photos and goofing around, the book selection was wide and there are two floors. Ground floor and basement. It is all decorated so beautifully and felt like home. If you want to visit it is in a neighborhood and it looks like a normal house but it has a sign saying books, and you enter on the side. I definitely recommend this place.

Best used and rare bookstore in the Midwest. A true gem of a place tucked away in the heart of South Bend. The place to go for hard to find texts from theology to art history. Their selection is amazing and their prices are excellent. I always leave wanting to come back and buy at least one more book the next time I am in town. The owner and staff are brilliant and friendly, but also happy to let you drift through the shelves for hours on end. The third most comfortable chair in the world is tucked away in their basement. Within walking distance of the lovely city Farmer's Market.

Such a hidden gem! I took my Mom here for her birthday, and books from floor to ceiling, every genre! Not to mention the affordable prices, just a beautiful place with great vibes. :)) (Owner was spectacular too!)

Erasmus has been a staple of my high school days and it hasn't changed one bit, except maybe the birds in the back room are no longer a feature there. Two cute dogs have replaced the birds. The owner has always been a kind soul. Every time I took my niece to Erasmus, she was sure to come away with a free children's book. Undoubtedly my favourite bookstore & I'm so happy it's still around.

This past week on a trip to South Bend, Indiana to see a good friend, I visited a nice, out of the way, discrete, bookshop. Nestled in a house in a typical neighborhood is Erasmus Books. If you do not have the actual address, you might pass it up; especially if you miss the small “Books” sign hanging from the outside house frame. Inside, from floor to ceiling, there is a treasure trove of wonderful books. If you are ever in South Bend, DO NOT miss this shop. It is well worth the stop!

This place looks super sketchy from the outside, but it was one of my absolute favorite book shops I have ever been to! Such a great hole in the wall. The atmosphere was so welcoming and eclectic. The variety of books was immaculate. The service was super nice. If I lived near here, I would definitely be a regular!
